Fresh or dried bay laurel leaves are aromatic leaves commonly used in cooking for their distinctive flavour and fragrance. How to dry fresh bay leaves without damaging the original flavours and color is the key process for preservation. Vacuum drying is one of the ways. 


FZG series vacuum shelf tray dryer is the most often used static chamber dryer under vacuum condition. Inside the drying chamber, trays loaded with wet material are placed on top of each other in a drying shelf.


In drying pocess, heat medium, such as steam, hot water or thermal oil, is connected to the drying shelf which transfers heat to wet material. Under vacuum condition, boiling point of moisture is much lower. So the moisture can be evaporated under low temperature. The vacuum pump constantly sucks out the evaporated moisture to speed the drying process. Vacuum pump, tubular condenser and buffer tank are equipped to recover the evaporated moisture.
